Can Tea Tree Oil Help Eyebrows Grow

Tea tree oil can potentially help eyebrows grow when use consistently and correctly. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of tea tree oil create a favorable environment for hair follicles, promoting healthier hair growth. Tea tree oil also carries moisturizing and conditioning properties which prevent dryness and breakage.

Now, when I tried Tea Tree Oil I saw a visible effect on my brows. However, results may vary, seeing that there are other factors that play a huge role in the growth cycles of our hair such as; genetics, age, and even our overall health can impact the effectiveness of tea tree oil.

Benefits Of Tea Tree Oil For Eyebrows

Here’s a list of potential benefits you can receive from tea tree oil if applied to your eyebrow regularly and correctly:

  1. Tea tree oil has properties that can stimulate hair follicles, which can potentially lead to an increase in eyebrow growth and thickness.
  2. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of tea tree oil can help prevent infections in the eyebrow area, ensuring a healthier environment for hair growth.
  3. Tea tree oil possesses anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe and reduce inflammation or redness in the eyebrow area.
  4. Tea tree oil can act as a sealant and be applied after your moisturizing serum to lock in the moisture around the brow area and hair. This prevents dry skin, brittleness, and fall outs of our brows.
  5. Controls Dandruff and Itchiness. Tea tree oil can alleviate dandruff and itchiness in the eyebrows, promoting a healthier and more comfortable eyebrow area.
  6. This oil acts as a natural cleanser, helping to remove dirt, debris, and excess oil from the eyebrows, which can contribute to healthier hair growth.

How Do You Use Tea Tree Oil For Eyebrow Growth

This is the method that I used and got results:

  1. Dilute the Tea Tree Oil

Mix a few drops of tea tree oil with any carrier oil (coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil…) using a ratio of 2-3 drops of tea tree oil per teaspoon of carrier oil. This helps to prevent skin irritation.

  1. Gently clean Your Eyebrow area

Cleaning your eyebrows with a mild cleanser or warm water can effectively remove any dirt, oil, or makeup residue. After which you will pat them dry with a clean towel.

  1. Apply the Diluted Tea Tree Oil to your brow area

Dip a cotton swab or an eyebrow brush (spoolie) into the diluted tea tree oil mixture. And apply the mixture to your eyebrows, focusing on the areas where you want to promote growth. Be careful not to get the oil mixture into your eyes.

  1. Massage Your Eyebrows

Using your fingertips, gently massage the oil into your eyebrows in circular motions. This helps to stimulate blood circulation and absorption of the oil.

  1. Leave it on for full absorption by the skin

You can choose to leave the diluted tea tree oil on your eyebrows overnight or for a few hours, allowing it to penetrate the skin.

To see potential results, it’s important to be consistent with the application of tea tree oil. Aim to apply it to your eyebrows 2-3 times a week for a few months. However, tea tree oil may not work for everyone, and results may vary. If you experience any adverse reactions or discomfort, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

How Long Do You Leave Tea Tree Oil On Your Eyebrows

Once your oil is properly diluted enough for your skin’s sensitivity, you can leave it on all night, or even for a few hours. It is really up to your preference, now I regularly applied it and left it on overnight.

However, consistency is the key to a faster and more effective result. So applying it regularly is just as important as your application method.

Side Effects Of Using Tea Tree Oil For Eyebrows

Tea Tree oil is an Essential Oil that is usually safe once diluted in any carrier oil of your choice. However, there are also cases of Side effects and Adverse reactions. Hence it is always advised to Patch Test before using.

Reacting to this oil can occur due to various reasons, so here I have provided you with some general information on possible reasons for potential reactions:

  1. Allergic Reactions may occur if you are allergic to tea tree oil, which can cause an immune system response leading to symptoms like skin irritation, redness, itching, swelling, or a rash. Allergies can develop over time, even if you’ve used tea tree oil before without any issues.
  2. Sensitivity or Irritation are usually temporary side effects of Tea tree oil if it was not diluted enough. This oil is very potent and can cause irritation and other reaction to persons with very sensitive skin.
  3. Tea tree oil can trigger contact dermatitis, which is an inflammation of the skin that occurs when it comes into direct contact with an irritant or allergen. This can result in symptoms like redness, itching, swelling, or blisters.
  4. There are also other reasoning like the interaction of the oil with; other medications, pre-existing skin conditions, or underlying health issues, which could also contribute to these reactions.
